The tech giant, Apple, has announced the launch of its new Augmented  Reality art project – [AR]T Walk. This creative initiative, designed by Apple’s customer community program, ‘Today at Apple’, in collaboration with New York’s ‘New Museum’ aims to achieve new heights in the world of AR-driven art. With this initiative, Apple brought together a group of seven highly talented and diverse artists – Nick Cave, Nathalie Djurberg, Hans Berg, Cao Fei, John Giorno, Carsten Höller and Pipilotti Rist. These artists, though  new to the medium of AR, were inspired by a common ideology – to not just create pieces of art, but to create entire worlds.

This modern [AR]T exhibition was launched on the 10th of August in London, Tokyo, Paris, San Francisco, Hong Kong and New York, and will remain public till the end of the year. The exhibition, in each city, will consist of six pieces or displays, each lasting five to ten minutes. If you are in these cities during during this time, be sure to have the [AR]T app and a pair of headphones on your iPhone to explore these AR art installations. Find the closest meeting point for your location and an Apple executive will assist you in your futuristic Art exploration.

Painting The Future

New Museum’s Lisa Phillips notably said, “Augmented reality is a medium ripe for dynamic and visual storytelling that can extend an artist’s practice beyond the studio or the gallery and into the urban fabric.”, and that is truly what AR is. In our quickly developing world, the progress of AR is something we can all cherish. The next phase of the  modernization of art, along with several other fields, can be achieved and realized with the help of AR.
