When referring to the Bangalore Palace, you’d probably talk about its beautiful and elegant exteriors clad in vines or its vibrant interiors. Maybe you’ll mention the rare artefacts found inside the palace and the lovely lawns that surround it. But truly the Royal history is so much more than this! And who better to tell the tale than a member of the Royal Wodeyar Family themselves?

On 26 February 2019, FlippAR participated in a Heritage Walk through the Bangalore Palace. Organised by our walk partners Culture Rings, the walk was attended by Mr Rudrapratap and his wife, who are members of the Royal Family themselves.

An experience like never before, they walked us through the great stories of the Wodeyars as we toured the palace. Culture Rings offers experiential tours across cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru, and has worked closely with FlippAR to help conduct Heritage Walks across the Bengaluru’s MG Road and Cubbon Park.

Invited by Culture Rings, we toured through the rooms and corridors and admired the various artworks and artefacts across the palace as Ms. Kaveri Sinhji, the Founder of Culture Rings elaborated upon the historical facts and stories that make the the palace the marvel it is. To add to the experience were enchanting tales from Mr. Rudrapratap who shared exclusive stories about his family.

The Bangalore Palace is a stunning structure in itself, with its Indo-Tudor style of architecture and gothic windows, and it was truly an unparalleled experience to revisit the palace through the eyes of the Royal Family.
