Donning every colour of the rainbow, Bengaluru’s Lalbagh can truly be a sight to see during its famed flower shows. Each year, on Republic Day and Independence Day, not only does the iconic Glass House fill itself with colourful flower exhibits, but the entire garden blooms into a symphony of vibrant colours and uplifting fragrances. And if you have been looking to explore the elaborate history of the garden, this is the perfect time.
Installed across the garden are FlippAR’s sign-boards that can help you explore the garden through the magical lens of AR. Unlock previously untold stories, interesting facts and trivia behind the many historical locations scattered across the garden.

For example, did you know that Lalbagh was founded during the reign of Hyder Ali in 1760, and his son, Tipu Sultan, populated it with beautiful trees and plants from around the world. Located at the heart of today’s Bengaluru, the garden marked the periphery of the city back then. It spreads over 240 acres today, and is home to over a 1,000 variety of plants, many of which are hundreds of years old. You can also find a fossilized tree and a 3,000 Million years old rock formation.
The garden is packed with many such historical tokens and stories from the city’s rich history which you can explore using FlippAR Go. Download the app from Play Store/App Store and launch the app when you locate a sign-board at the venue. By simply scanning the board, or the structure (such as the glass house, the Kempegowda Tower), you will be transported into the era where it all started, with exclusive pictures, audio-visual guides, and interactive AR experiences.
