The 300-acre green zone in the heart of one of the busiest cities of India, Cubbon Park is an antidote to the bustle of Bengaluru. However, over the weekend leading up to Children\u2019s Day, the park shed its usual quiet avatar to play host to an exciting happy-fun-filled event. The Makkala Habba – a children\u2019s carnival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hosted by the Department of Women and Child Development and the Department of Youth Empowerment, the Makkala Habba was an action-packed event that brought the park to life. The kids accompanied by their parents, were excited to participate in <\/span>sports, cultural activities, learning based games, and performances.<\/span><\/p>\n

The added participation from the Karnataka State Department of Horticulture that hosted the flower show only added to the carnival-like atmosphere at the park. The event saw some creative expressions like replicas of houses and animals made using vegetables and flowers, to dance performances by children at the bandstand that added to the festive air.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Defence services also put up a good show at the carnival. The BSF band (Border Security Force) played some great orchestra versions of popular songs to entertain visitors, while the army put on a display their arsenal of weapons and tanks, which had kids enthralled. There were also vintage cars on display next to the Chamarajendra Wodeyar statue.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, team FlippAR was there too. We weren\u2019t one to miss out on such a fun event. What\u2019s more? We even hosted a stall at the event and added some fun experiences on our app (read selfie filters, among others). The highlight of our offerings though was a super fun quiz that tested the knowledge of visitors about the park.<\/span><\/p>\n

The quiz is still available for you to take and here\u2019s a little secret. If you want to have a go at it, it\u2019s best to do so after taking our walk. Currently, FlippAR Go heritage walks are available across Cubbon Park, M.G. Road and Lal Bagh. <\/span><\/p>\n

Besides the quiz, the stall was a box of AR treasures. The visitors were introduced to the exciting upcoming features on the app. Some of these included the AR Spheres – a feature that\u2019s as close to teleportation as we can get. Through this feature, people could experience visiting a new place without actually going there. The 360 spheres included some of the most beautiful locations across Karnataka that FlippAR Go hosts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, visitors could even see 3D structures of key monuments like temples, and palaces come alive in front of them. Another exciting feature involved scanning boards and statues and watching videos about them in real time. All these are experiences waiting to be introduced to you soon and are receiving their final touches.<\/span><\/p>\n
